The nation of Panama declared a state of emergency after a powerful magnitude 7.7 earthquake struck the southern region of the country, causing dozens of injuries, hundreds of aftershocks, a tsunami and damage to homes and buildings, especially in the hard-hit provinces of Veraguas, Herrera, Cocle and Los Santos. At Least 40 Dead in Flooding Across Thailand

 

More than 12.6 inches (320mm) of rain fell within a three-day period in torrential downpours across 42 provinces in Thailand, with the capital city of Bangkok being one of the hardest hit regions, flooding homes and businesses, causing over $367 million in damages, and killing more than 40 people. British police arrested, then later released five men on bail previously under surveillance by authorities near the Royal Airforce Fairford base (RAF) in the United Kingdom, a site used by the US military west of London to launch strikes on Iran, for suspicion of terrorism and explosive charges. Afghanistan Insurgent Groups, Civilians, Killed in Pakistan Strikes

Copilot Attacks FlyDubai Pilot With Axe in Hijack Attempt, Passengers Intervene

A FlyDubai flight with 170 passengers and crew travelling from Dubai in the United Arab Emirates (UAE), enroute to Tel Aviv, Israel, made an emergency landing in Saudi Arabia after the copilot attacked the pilot with a crash axe in an attempt to hijack the aircraft before passengers intervened.
