Opposition Leader Claims Interim Presidency in Venezuela, Seven Killed During Protests
At least seven people died during protests after 35-year-old National Assembly opposition leader Juan Guiado declared himself as the interim president of Venezuela in front of a mass of anti-government demonstrators, a bold, direct challenge given to embattled socialist Nicolas Maduro, who immediately blamed the United States, and responded by expelling diplomats and breaking off all trade relations.
