Death Toll in 'Unprecedented' Japan Flooding Nears 60
Rescuers continued to reach thousands of stranded residents in the southern areas of Japan's main island, especially in the hard-hit areas of Kumamoto, Nagano and Gifu prefectures, after torrential rain, mudslides and unprecedented flooding hammered the region by destroying roads, piling up debris and killing at least 58 people.
