Oklahoma Rules Half of State Native American Reservation Territory
The Muscogee (Creek) Nation applauded a 5-4 ruling by the United States Supreme Court to uphold a treaty which declared almost half of the state of Oklahoma, including Tulsa, its second-largest city, as Indian reservation land, a decision which calls for the federal prosecution of Native Americans involved in major crimes, with lesser infractions handled by the tribal courts.
