Turkish Court Rules to Convert Iconic Hagia Sophia Museum Back Into Mosque
Overturning a 1934 decision to convert Istanbul's iconic Hagia Sophia into a museum, President Tayyip Erdogan declared that a Turkish high court ruled the sixth century Byzantine structure, originally built as a Christian cathedral in former Constantinople and now listed as a UNESCO World Heritage site, will be reverted back into a mosque.
