Iranian state media reported that 27-year-old Greco-Roman wrestling champ Navid Afkari died by hanging from an execution in Adelabad prison in the city of Shiraz, after a court convicted him in the stabbing death of a security guard, despite the many international appeals to spare his life, including from US President Donald Trump.
