A West Kowloon magistrates court handed 24-year-old prominent Hong Kong pro-democracy activist Joshua Wong a 13 and a half month prison sentence after he pleaded guilty to organizing and inciting others to attend an unauthorized protest outside police headquarters in June of 2019, making him another casualty in the broad fight over independence with Beijing following the passage of its controversial new national security law.
