Iran's Supreme Court Upholds Verdict, Executes 'Dissident' Journalist


Iran's Supreme Court upheld a previous verdict and executed exiled and 'dissident' journalist Rouhollah Zam by hanging on Saturday, over his online work via a messaging app which helped foment violence during the 2017 anti-government demonstrations, while some critics say his energies inspired much needed nationwide economic protests and accuse Tehran of using the death penalty as a tool for suppression.
