A gunman fatally shot by police after opening fire during a Christmas concert at Manhattan's famed Cathedral of St. John has been identified as 52-year-old Luis Vasquez, who authorities say left a note detailing his plans to take hostages and possessed a bag containing gasoline, rope, tape, a bible and several knives.
