Deb Haaland Becomes First Native American US Secretary of Interior


Wearing traditional dress and moccasins, Representative Debra Haaland, of the Pueblo of Laguna, made history by becoming the first Native American cabinet member after being sworn in by the Senate as the US Secretary of Interior by the Biden administration, an agency which once sought to "civilize or exterminate" American Indians.
