A federal court sentenced 31-year-old Akayed Ullah, of Brooklyn, New York and also lawful permanent resident of Bangladesh, to life in prison for his failed attempt to set off a homemade pipe bomb which misfired in a crowded subway station during rush hour in 2017, in what authorities called a "lone wolf" attack inspired by Islamic State propaganda.
