45 Crushed to Death on Mount Meron During Israeli Religious Festival

 

In one of the worst tragedies in years, at least 45 people died and more than 150 were injured, including children, during a stampede at a religious festival on Mount Meron in Israel, which crushed crowds of ultra-Orthodox Jewish worshippers as they passed through a narrow, slippery staircase near the tomb of a 2nd century rabbi.
