The United Nations issued a statement saying it was 'deeply alarmed' by excessive force used by security officers in the Colombian city of Cali when demonstrators protesting a proposed tax reform bill clashed with police, who allegedly opened fire on crowds with live ammunition and used excessive force, leading to more than 19 deaths and 800 injuries.
