A plane belonging to the Myanmar military crashed after losing communication in bad weather close to a steel factory near the city of Pyin Oo Lwin, killing 12 people, including a prominent Buddhist monk from the Zay Kone Monastery in Pyinmana en route to help quell the mass anti-junta protests which have killed more than 800 civilians, according to a local monitoring group.
