A "shallow" magnitude 6.0 earthquake struck Luxian county in China's southwestern Sichuan province about 75 miles southwest of Chongqing, a city with more the 30 million residents, a tremor which trapped people underneath rubble, destroyed buildings and homes, and killed at least three.
