El Salvador Military Ordered to Patrol Streets Following Spike in Murders

 

In response to a recent massive surge in homicides, El Salvador President Nayib Bukele ordered the military, who used armored vehicles to block exits and combat soldiers to patrol the streets of San Salvador and other cities throughout the country, following a spate of killings which left more than 30 people dead in two days.
