Ferry in Bangladesh Catches Fire During Overnight Passage, Killing at Least 40

 

At least 40 people died and more than 100 suffered injuries after the engine room of an overcrowded three deck ferry named the MV Abhijon-10 caught fire during an overnight passage along the Sugandha River near the Jhalokati district in southern Bangladesh, a blaze which occurred while most of the passengers were sleeping.
