6,000 Barrels of Oil Spilled Off Coast of Peru Blamed on Tonga Eruption

 

Workers continue a clean-up campaign after an oil tanker spilled more than 6,000 barrels of oil into the ocean off the coast of Peru near Cavero Beach in the Ventanilla district of the city Callao, causing the contamination of 21 areas along its Pacific coast, a natural disaster blamed on surging waves which struck a refinery following Tonga volcanic eruption.
