A court in military-controlled Myanmar sentenced 76-year-old former deposed leader and Nobel laureate Aung San Suu Kyi to five years in prison for corruption in the first of eleven cases against her, with charges ranging from violating the Official Secrets Act to fraud, all carrying maximum combined possible terms which could add up to more than 190 behind bars.
