At least 11 people died, including four women and a boy, and 25 others suffered injuries after an avalanche struck members of a nomadic tribe and their herd of goats as they crossed Shoulder Pass, a mountainous area in the Gilgit-Baliston region near the border of Kasmir in northern Pakistan.
