At Least 55 Confirmed Dead, More Than 1,000 Missing in Devastating Maui Wildfire

 

Massive wildfires fueled by the winds of hurricane Dora in the Pacific Ocean destroyed the historic and former capital city of Lahaina, in the northwestern region of the Hawaiin island of Maui, killing at least 67 people and leaving more than 1,000 others still missing, making it the largest natural disaster in the state's 63-year history.
