At Least 41 Dead, Over 100 Missing in India Glacial Lake Flooding

 

Extreme weather conditions caused by a sudden microburst of rain triggered an avalanche and severe flash flooding from the waters of the Lhonak glacial lake in India's mountainous Himalayan state of Sikkim, after its dam breached and swept away bridges, roads and homes along the Teetsa river, leaving more than 100 people missing and at least 47 confirmed dead.
