The United States launched a wave of retaliatory strikes against what it called Iranian-backed targets in Iraq and Syria, in response to a deadly drone attack on the American Tower 22 military base in Jordan, which killed three service members, and bombed numerous Houthi sites in Yemen alongside the United Kingdom, in retaliation for continued provocation on international shipping lanes in the Red Sea.
