A fire broke out in a deserted hotel used as a makeshift homeless shelter in the southern Brazilian city of Porto Alegre, the capital city of Rio Grand do Sul state, killing 10 people inside and injuring 13 others, with authorities giving no immediate determination as to the cause of the blaze, but stated that it may have been the result of arson.
