At least 18 people died and more than 30 others wounded during the deadliest day thus far of police crackdowns on anti-coup demonstrators which took place in several cities throughout Myanmar, as security forces used tear gas, stun grenades and both rubber and live ammunition to disperse crowds of protesters, according to the UN office for human rights.
