Algeria Wildfires: More Than 65 Dead, 22 Arsonist Arrested
Forest fires in Algeria killed at least 65 people, including 28 soldiers deployed to help put out the wildfires, with blazes tearing through the northern areas of the country in the Kabylie region amid an intense heatwave, tinder-dry conditions and strong winds, as President Abdelmadjid Tebboune announced the arrests of 22 suspected arsonists, stating that the majority of the fires "were of criminal origin".
