More than 400 police officers entered the Coastal Penitentiary, one of the largest correctional facilities in Ecuador, in an attempt to control a massive riot which broke out in the port city of Guayaquil after fighting between rival gangs broke out which left over 100 inmates dead and dozens others injured.
