The Islamic State claimed responsibility for a suicide bombing at an election rally for a pro-Taliban cleric member of the Jamiat Ulema Islam Fazi (JUI-F) party in the northwestern Bajaur district, near the border of Afghanistan, an attack which killed at least 44 people, and wounded 200 others.
