Senior Hamas official Salah al-Arouri, a deputy chief and spokesperson of the political bureau, has been assassinated alongside six commanders of its armed wing, in what is believed to be a "surgical" drone strike carried out by the Israeli military on an office building in the suburban Hezbollah stronghold of Dahiyeh, Beirut in Lebanon, as governments around the region grow concerned over the Israel-Hamas war growing into a wider conflict.
