Edmond Johnson, Last Surviving Speaker of Native American Caddo Language, Dead at 94

The Caddo Nation of Oklahoma, a federally recognized Native American tribe headquartered in Binger, announced the death of 95-year-old Edmond Johnson, the last surviving speaker of its ancient language Hasinai, calling him a "treasured elder" and "vital knowledge bearer," whose passing was an irreplaceable loss to their heritage.
