Ancient Winemaking Complex Discovered in Israel

 

Archeologists discovered a huge, ancient Byzantine-era winemaking complex dating back more than 1,500 years near a soccer pitch and a suburban neighborhood in the Israeli city of Yavne, a facility capable of producing more than half a million gallons of wine per year of the popular drink once preferred over water.
